This is off the topic of weddings, but I've loved this quote for a while & it's especially fitting today. I clipped it years ago from my hometown paper, The Honolulu Advertiser in the very popular "Today's Thought" column by the late Reverend Paul Osumi.
Plato said: "Take hold of your life. Most of the things that distress you, you can avoid; most of the things that dominate you, you can overthrow; you can do as you like with them." "Take hold of your life" --that is where courage begins. Life for many people is a frantic effort to stem the inevitable rather than to acquire an inner sense of control. Be the captain of your own soul and the master of your fate.
