L'Auberge Del Mar closed at the end of last year through the middle part of this year for major renovations and opened to a very fresh and modern looking hotel. Just last week, the long-awaited signature restaurant, Kitchen 1540 which replaced J Taylor's opened for business. Lucky for me, I was at the hotel a couple days before opening, and I was able to sneak a few pictures in!
The restaurant, named after the street address is modern with very cozy touches added. Just outside the indoor fireplace is a garden with fresh herbs used in the kitchen. Just beside the garden are cabanas with private seating for the ultimate romantic dinner.
The back patio has a firepit and a waterfall to enhance the great outdoor seating area.
The restaurant offers an intimate private dining room for 10, perfect for those smaller engagement dinners.
The restaurant under the direction of Executive Chef Paul McCabe is open for dinner nightly from 6 - 10 PM and after November 24, for breakfast and lunch too. Check out the delicious menu here.
